Colby Barker pitched five no-hit innings on April 11, but the Merrimack Warriors lost to the Northeastern Huskies in their season finale, with a final score of 9-2.
The performance by Barker included eight strikeouts over six innings. Despite his strong showing on the mound, the Warriors were unable to overcome the Huskies’ offense.
Matt DeShiro contributed to Merrimack’s scoring by hitting a ball past left field that brought in the first run for the Warriors. Earlier in the game, DeShiro also reached base with a single. Brooks Craigue followed up with a hard-hit single that drove in DeShiro for another run.
Jayden Hamilton and Jack DePalma each recorded hits during the game. Meanwhile, Brett McKinnon and Samuel Sherman showed patience at bat by drawing two walks apiece.
Looking ahead, Merrimack will play against UMaine Black Bears tomorrow afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for noon.
