Collins sets school record as Merrimack competes at Harvard Crimson Open

Merrimack College’s women’s track and field team participated in the Harvard Crimson Open at the Gordon Indoor Track on Friday. The event saw several notable performances from Merrimack athletes.

Marianna Collins set a new school record in the 1000-meter race, finishing with a time of 2:54.90 and placing fourth overall. In the long jump, Grace Bleyer and Riley Paskow both reached a distance of 5.19 meters, securing spots among the top five competitors.

Kristina Ponzio finished fifth in the 5000-meter race with a time of 18:47.97, while Kiley Halpin placed eighth, recording a time of 19:38.81.

In the shot put event, Bella Hayes achieved a fifth-place finish with a throw measuring 12.12 meters.

Rebecca Russalesi earned seventh place in the 400-meter race with a personal best time of 58.58 seconds. Piper Testa also recorded a personal best in the same event, finishing with a time of 59.23 seconds.
