Eight Warriors score as Merrimack falls to Providence in men’s lacrosse

The Merrimack Warriors men’s lacrosse team lost to the Providence Friars with a score of 16-9 in Providence, Rhode Island. Despite the defeat, eight different players from the Warriors contributed goals during the game.

Brendan Harty recorded his fourth and fifth goals of the season, converting three shots on goal. He also added his third assist this year. Senior Alystair Hemburger led the team with two assists and scored his fourth goal of the season. Rob Tyra opened scoring for the Warriors, taking four shots on net and securing their first goal of the day.

Finn Dougherty notched his seventh goal of the season after taking five shots, two of which were on target. Colin Kruger maintained his position as team leader in goals by scoring his twelfth in the fourth quarter.

Faceoff specialist Daniel Bezrutchenko won 13 out of 24 faceoffs and collected six ground balls. Jesse D’Alonzo achieved a personal best by making 13 saves during the match.

The Warriors are scheduled to play against Sacred Heart this Saturday at noon.
