Former Marblehead High star Liam McIlroy and the Fairfield Stags were defeated 13-6 by the Columbia Lions in their NCAA Division I baseball matchup at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 14.

The contest was played at Don ’63 and Chris ’88 Cook Field, marking the teams’ first meeting this season.

McIlroy finished with one hit in two plate appearances and drove in one run.

Fairfield is slated to face the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers for their next game at Don ’63 and Chris ’88 Cook Field on Friday, April 17.
