Joey Frammartino delivered a two-run double in the ninth inning to help the Merrimack Warriors secure a 4-3 victory over Northeastern on March 17, snapping Northeastern’s 22-game home winning streak.
The win is significant as it ended a long-standing streak for Northeastern, whose last home loss occurred in their season opener against Towson University last year. The Warriors’ late rally was sparked by Frammartino’s double, which came after two walks and cleared the bases.
Greg Cristino and Brooks Craigue each contributed with two singles during the game. Jack Andrews tied the score at 2-2 with a bloop single in the fifth inning and later scored the game-winning run after reaching base on a throwing error in the ninth. Matt DeShiro also played a key role as he became the tying run following his hit through the left side before scoring on Frammartino’s double.
Michael Bradshaw earned the win for Merrimack by pitching 2.1 innings of relief without allowing any hits or runs.
Looking ahead, the Warriors will travel to Buffalo for a three-game series against Canisius University.
