Merrimack College announced on March 11 that freshman forwards Justin Gill and Parker Lalonde have been selected for the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All Rookie team. The announcement was made by the conference on Wednesday morning.

The recognition highlights the strong performances of both players during the regular season. Gill, from St-Joseph-du-Lac, Quebec, scored 16 goals, becoming the first Merrimack player to reach that number since Hampus Gustafsson in the 2015-16 season. He shares the team lead in points with Trevor Hoskin at 32 and is one of only two Warriors averaging over a point per game. Gill also recorded a point in 13 consecutive games and scored goals in seven straight matches this season. He is tied for fifth place in Hockey East for goals and points, and ranks second among freshmen in conference goals. In February, Gill was named rookie of the month by the conference.

Lalonde, from Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, contributed 32 points over 33 games with 12 goals and a team-high 20 assists. He achieved his first collegiate hat trick against New Hampshire on October 18 and had nine multi-point games throughout the season, including a career-best four-point performance against Vermont on February 27.

Both Gill and Lalonde are expected to play tonight as Merrimack faces UMass Lowell Riverhawks at Lawler Arena at 7 p.m.
