Senior swimmer Kendra Daily broke the school record in the 100-yard backstroke twice during the third day of the MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Daily first set a new mark of 56.97 seconds during Friday morning’s preliminaries and then surpassed her own record with a time of 56.41 seconds in the evening finals. Her performance earned her fifth place in the event and made her Merrimack’s first conference A finalist in program history.
Other notable performances included senior Neva Sa finishing ninth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.52. Junior Emma McCarthy established a new program record in the 100 breaststroke at 1:07.28, while senior Cameron Zuliani set another program best by completing the 100 butterfly in 57.64 seconds.
The Merrimack Warriors are currently ranked tenth as they head into the final day of competition at the MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships. Both preliminaries and finals are available for live streaming on ESPN+.
