Colin Kruger and Dan Bezrutchenko of the Merrimack men’s lacrosse team were named to the Team of the Week by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, according to an April 27 release from NEILA.
The recognition comes after both players contributed key performances in Merrimack’s 14-12 victory over Quinnipiac during the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championships at Duane Stadium. Kruger recorded four points, with two goals and two assists, tying for a team-high in points. Bezrutchenko won 66 percent of his face offs, finishing 19-for-29.
This is the first time this season that either Kruger or Bezrutchenko have received honors from NEILA. Earlier in the season, teammate Jack Salva was recognized by the association on March 30.
Merrimack’s postseason continues as they prepare for a matchup against top-seeded Siena scheduled for Thursday at noon Eastern Time.
The team’s recent achievements highlight their ongoing efforts in conference play as they advance further into championship competition.
