The Merrimack College men’s lacrosse team received two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly honors on April 24, as Colin Kruger was named Offensive Player of the Week and Jaden Galfano earned Defensive Player of the Week. The awards followed the Warriors’ 14-6 victory over top-seeded Siena in their regular-season finale.
These recognitions mark continued success for the team, which has now had a player honored by the conference in three out of the past four weeks. Kruger received his second Offensive Player of the Week award in three weeks, having previously been recognized on April 6. Earlier this season, teammate Jack Salva was also named conference Player of the Week on March 30.
Merrimack finished its regular season ranked fourth in the MAAC standings. This placement allows them to host No. 5 Quinnipiac in the opening round of the MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championships at Duane Stadium.
The playoff match is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., where Merrimack will look to continue its strong performance from recent weeks.
As postseason play begins, observers will be watching to see if Merrimack can build on its recent momentum and advance further into championship contention.
