The Town of Lynnfield announced on April 3 that roadway paving and sidewalk ramp construction will begin the week of April 6, with work scheduled to continue for at least four weeks.

The project is part of the Department of Public Works’ Spring Program. The town said D&R Inc. will handle the construction and repair of sidewalk ramps at intersections, as well as curb work in designated areas. The initial phase will take place on Walnut Street, followed by Sparhawk & Tedford, Summer at Salem Street Intersection, Baldwin, Russet, and Apple Hill.

Later in April and into May, D&R Inc. will grind and repave several roads. This process includes removing old pavement and laying a new road surface. Paving will proceed through Edwards Neighborhood; Summer Street from Parsons to Arlington with Edgemere; Summer at Salem; Russet; and Baldwin. Work on Apple Hill may extend into July.

During active construction periods, some streets may be closed or detours established to ensure safety while crews are present. Police officers will be stationed on site to assist drivers when needed. Residents should expect brief delays but will retain access to their homes throughout the project duration.

The town stated that school bus routes and trash collection services would continue according to their regular schedules for each street affected by the roadwork.

For further information or questions about the project, residents are encouraged to contact the Public Works office at 781-334-9500 ext. 0 or email Town Engineer Deborah Duhamel at dduhamel@town.lynnfield.ma.us.
