Merrimack College runner Maci Chapman was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Runner of the Week following her performance at the Merrimack Track Carnival, according to an April 7 announcement by the conference.

The recognition highlights Chapman’s achievements during a recent meet where she ran a personal best in the 5000-meter race. This accomplishment is significant for both Chapman and Merrimack College’s track and field program, as it demonstrates competitive excellence at the conference level.

Chapman, a senior from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, completed the race in 17:29.17. This time marks the second-fastest in program history for that distance. She secured first place with a lead of 51 seconds over her nearest competitor.
