Merrimack College women’s hockey player Adreanna Doucette has been named Hockey East Defender of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Monday. This marks the first time Doucette has received this honor.
Doucette, a sophomore goaltender from Milbury, Massachusetts, recorded 69 saves on 72 shots in games against Holy Cross and Vermont. She made 40 saves in the second game as Merrimack went unbeaten over the weekend.
“Adreanna has had four appearances this season making 40 saves or more and 10 with 30+ saves, she also sits in the top 10 in saves, goals against average and save percentage in Hockey East. This is the second time this season that Doucette has won weekly honors from the conference as she was named as Hockey East Goaltender of the Week on January 19.”
The Warriors will play their final home game of the regular season at Lawler Arena when they face the Maine Black Bears on Thursday, February 19.
