Merrimack College announced on May 1 the launch of a new social media campaign called “Mack In The Rafters” to celebrate the men’s ice hockey team’s recent Hockey East Championship. The campaign encourages fans to keep the memory of Merrimack’s championship banner, which hangs in TD Garden, alive both at the arena and online.

The initiative matters to many in the Merrimack community who remember the team’s victory over UConn on March 21. According to the college, Head Coach Scott Borek and his team have not forgotten their achievement, and fans who filled TD Garden during the event are encouraged to continue celebrating it.

As part of “Mack In The Rafters,” Merrimack asks supporters visiting TD Garden to take photos of the white Hockey East Championship banner that reads “Merrimack College 2026 Champions” in yellow and blue. Fans are then asked to post these photos on social media using the hashtag #MackInTheRafters. By tagging @MerrimackWarriors on Instagram or @MC_Athletics on X (formerly Twitter), participants will be entered into a quarterly prize drawing with no limit on entries.

A statement from Merrimack College said, “Everyone at Merrimack College still vividly remembers the Hockey East Championship at TD Garden. We hope you do, too.”

The campaign aims not only to honor a significant athletic achievement but also to foster ongoing engagement among students, alumni, and supporters.
