Merrimack baseball defeats Bucknell with strong offense and pitching

Six Merrimack Warriors players each drove in at least two runs during a high-scoring victory over Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The team’s pitching staff allowed only two earned runs and recorded 13 strikeouts.

Starting pitcher Samuel Franco threw four innings and struck out six batters. Colby Barker earned the win after pitching 4.1 innings in relief and also striking out six.

Offensively, Greg Cristino led the way with four hits, including two doubles, and contributed four RBIs. Jayden Hamilton added four RBIs with two hits, while Matt DeShiro had three RBIs from his two hits.

Brooks Craigue reached base five times with three hits and two walks. Jack Andrews hit a triple for two RBIs, Brian Downing had a double for two RBIs, and Christian Scanlon contributed with a hit, walk, and two RBIs.

Chris Goode also made an impact by reaching base three times through an RBI double and two walks.

The Warriors are scheduled to continue their weekend series against Bucknell on Saturday with games set for 11:15 a.m. and 2 p.m.
