Merrimack baseball falls 11-10 in extra innings against Charleston opponent

The Merrimack College baseball team lost a close game in extra innings, falling 11-10 in Charleston, South Carolina. The Warriors managed to tie the game in the ninth inning but could not secure a win.

Freshman Garrett McGovern had a strong performance, recording four runs batted in on two hits. Jayden Hamilton contributed three hits and an RBI. Jack Andrews and Matt DeShiro each added a hit and two RBIs to the team’s effort.

Chris Goode hit a home run in the seventh inning and drew two walks during the game. Greg Cristino reached base three times with a double and two walks.

On the mound, James Nichols pitched three innings, allowing only two hits and one earned run.

The Warriors are scheduled to play again tomorrow at 10 a.m. They will face Ball State in the final game of their three-day tournament after defeating them on Friday.
