Merrimack baseball lost to Dartmouth 4-3 after scoring three runs in the first inning, according to an April 29 announcement.
The game began with Merrimack taking an early advantage. Matt DeShiro hit a leadoff double, and Greg Cristino followed with another double that brought in the first run. Jack Andrews then singled to right field, allowing Joey Frammartino to score. Jayden Hamilton added a third run for Merrimack on a fielder’s choice.
Cristino finished the game with three hits, while DeShiro recorded two hits. Freshman Garrett McGovern also had two hits during the game.
Despite their strong start, Merrimack was unable to hold off Dartmouth’s comeback effort and ultimately fell by one run.
The Warriors will travel next to Maryland for a three-game series against Mount St. Mary’s.
