The Merrimack Warriors baseball team lost to UMass Lowell by a score of 10-8, according to an April 22 announcement. The Warriors made a strong effort in the final innings but were unable to overcome their rival.
The matchup saw Merrimack score eight runs over the last five innings, narrowing the gap but ultimately coming up short. This result highlights the team’s determination and ability to rally late in games.
Brooks Craigue, Greg Cristino, and Jayden Hamilton each recorded two hits during the contest. Both Craigue and Cristino hit doubles and contributed one run batted in (RBI) apiece, while Hamilton led the team with two RBIs. Joey Frammartino reached base three times through two walks and a fielder’s choice, also driving in two runs for Merrimack.
Chris Goode, Samuel Sherman, and Cole Yennaco each added a hit and a walk; Yennaco notched his first RBI of the season. Matt DeShiro extended his hitting streak to ten games and his on-base streak to twenty-five games.
Looking ahead, Merrimack will return home for a three-game series against Marist College’s Red Foxes this weekend. The first game is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m.
