The Merrimack College baseball team will play a three-game series against the Canisius Golden Griffins in Buffalo, as announced on March 20. The Warriors have won four of their last five games and are coming off a comeback victory over Northeastern earlier this week.

The upcoming series is significant for Merrimack as the team looks to maintain its momentum following recent successes. Joey Frammartino played a key role in the win against Northeastern by hitting a go-ahead two-run double. Frammartino reached base three times during that game, raising his on-base percentage to .571 and leading the team with a .370 batting average.

Colby Barker, who was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week, improved his record to 4-0 last week and currently holds a 0.46 earned run average, ranking him seventh nationally. Freshman catcher Garrett McGovern has also contributed with a .349 batting average, five doubles, and nine runs batted in so far this season.

Brooke Craigue has been performing well at bat recently, going seven for his last fourteen at-bats and recording two hits in each of his last three games while maintaining a six-game hitting streak. Jayden Hamilton leads the team with 23 hits overall.

Greg Cristino is Merrimack’s leader in home runs with three this season and also leads the team with 18 runs batted in. Leadoff hitter Matt DeShiro has collected 17 hits and one home run so far.

Game times for the series are scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at noon.
