Merrimack College baseball won the series rubber match against Marist with a 13-7 victory, according to an April 26 announcement.
The win was highlighted by strong offensive and pitching performances from several players. Cole Yennaco reached base four times, including his first home run of the season, a single, and two walks. He also drove in two runs and pitched a scoreless ninth inning without allowing any hits or runs.
Michael Bradshaw secured the win for Merrimack after pitching 2.1 innings of relief, striking out two batters and giving up only one hit. Jayden Hamilton contributed with a solo home run to start the scoring for the Warriors. Freshman Garrett McGovern added a single and double, raising his batting average to .290.
Leadoff hitter Matt DeShiro hit his fifth home run of the season, which proved to be the game-winning run. Brooks Craigue, Joey Frammartino, and Chris Goode each recorded both a hit and a walk during the game.
The Warriors will return home on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup against Stonehill College with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
