Merrimack College baseball won against Sacred Heart University on April 18, finishing with a score of 7-2 in Fairfield, Connecticut. The win was highlighted by strong performances from Joey Frammartino and Matt DeShiro, who both had multiple hits.
The game featured a pivotal sixth inning where Merrimack scored five runs. Both Frammartino and DeShiro contributed two-run doubles during that frame. Frammartino ended the day with three hits and a walk, while DeShiro added a double and a single for two hits.
Colby Barker earned his sixth win of the season after pitching six innings. Freshman Garrett McGovern helped start the big inning with an RBI single, bringing his batting average to .296 for the year. Chris Goode reached base four times through one hit and three walks.
Jayden Hamilton scored Merrimack’s first run on a fielder’s choice and also recorded a hit in the victory. Brooks Craigue contributed with a hit and an RBI sacrifice fly.
Looking ahead, Merrimack will conclude its nine-game road trip at UMass Lowell this Wednesday, with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
