Merrimack College baseball to host Marist University in weekend series

Merrimack College announced on Apr. 23 that its baseball team will play a three-game home series against Marist University this weekend.

The upcoming games mark an important opportunity for the Warriors as they continue their season at home, aiming to build on individual and team performances.

Joey Frammartino currently leads Merrimack in batting with a .322 average, four home runs, seven doubles, and a team-high 32 runs batted in. He also tops the squad in on-base percentage at .500 and an OPS of .983. Greg Cristino has recorded six home runs and twelve doubles so far this season, both leading the team in those categories.

Brooks Craigue enters the weekend with a .313 batting average and forty-two hits. Leadoff hitter Matt DeShiro holds a team-high forty-five hits with a .292 average. Freshman Garrett McGovern has contributed with a .293 batting average and twenty-five total hits.

On the pitching side, Colby Barker leads both Merrimack and the conference with seven wins. Barker maintains an earned run average of 2.68 while limiting opponents to just a .208 batting average.

Game times for the series are scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at noon.
