The Merrimack Warriors men’s basketball team is set to face Sacred Heart in the quarterfinals of the MAAC Men’s Basketball Championships at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The game will take place on Friday, March 6, at 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Merrimack enters the matchup as the top seed after finishing the regular season with a 21-10 overall record and a 17-3 mark in conference play. Their strong performance earned them a first-round bye. Head Coach Joe Gallo was named Coach of the Year, while Kevair Kennedy received Player of the Year honors for their contributions throughout the season.

Sacred Heart advanced to this stage by defeating No. 8 Iona in their first-round game held on Thursday night.

Addressing expectations ahead of the tournament, Gallo said: “No added pressure or anything like that,” Gallo said before traveling to Atlantic City. “Just kind of business as usual.”
