Colin Kruger scored a personal best of five goals for the Merrimack men’s lacrosse team, but the squad was defeated 12-10 by Sacred Heart in their MAAC opener on Saturday in Fairfield, Connecticut. Merrimack led 7-6 at halftime and extended its advantage to 10-7 after three quarters before Sacred Heart rallied for the win.
Finn Dougherty contributed two goals and one assist for Merrimack. John Savino, Alystair Hemberger, and Casey Herod also found the net during the game. In goal, Jesse D’Alonzo recorded 11 saves.
The Warriors will play their next game at home against Marist next Saturday.
