The Merrimack College men’s lacrosse team clinched its first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament appearance on Apr. 22 after defeating top-seeded Siena 14-6.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Warriors, as they handed Siena its first conference loss of the season and secured a home playoff game. The win, combined with other favorable results in the league, allows Merrimack to host No. 5 Quinnipiac at Duane Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Merrimack’s victory was highlighted by a six-goal run that broke open the match, with the team scoring ten of the game’s final twelve goals. Attacker Colin Kruger led all scorers with six goals, while Jack Salva, Finn Dougherty, and Casey Herod each contributed two goals apiece. Goalkeeper Jaden Galfano recorded thirteen saves to match his season high.
The upcoming playoff game against Quinnipiac is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time at Duane Stadium.
