Merrimack men’s basketball defeats Quinnipiac with strong defensive performance

The Merrimack men’s basketball team secured a 56-49 win over Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon in Hamden, Connecticut. The Warriors limited the Bobcats to their lowest point total of the season.

Kevair Kennedy led Merrimack with 24 points, including 12 made free throws, and collected seven rebounds. Ernest Shelton contributed 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists while playing 39 minutes.

KC Ugwuakazi set a personal best with six blocks and added eight points and six rebounds. The Warriors recorded a season-high 13 steals during the game. Tye Dorset led with four steals, followed by Kennedy with three.

Looking ahead, Merrimack will host Siena at Lawler Arena on Friday night in a conference matchup scheduled for broadcast on ESPNU at 8 p.m. ET.
