The Merrimack College men’s basketball team lost 64-54 to Siena in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship at Boardwalk Hall on March 10.
The loss ended Merrimack’s season with a record of 23 wins and 11 losses. The game was close throughout, with the Warriors trailing by only three points at halftime and narrowing the gap to four points late in the second half.
Ernest Shelton led Merrimack, playing all 40 minutes and scoring 17 points. He also made three three-pointers, grabbed three rebounds, and blocked three shots. Kevair Kennedy, who received both Player and Rookie of the Year honors, contributed 15 points along with five rebounds and four assists. Todd Brogna added 12 points by making four three-pointers and led the team with three steals.
KC Ugwuakazi recorded a season-high six blocks and collected seven rebounds. Tye Dorset scored seven points before leaving the game due to injury after playing for 25 minutes.
After the game, the team thanked its fans, family members, and supporters for their encouragement during both the regular season and playoffs.
