The Merrimack men’s hockey team lost 5-2 to the Maine Black Bears on Saturday night in Orono, Maine. This was the second game of a back-to-back series between the two teams.
Merrimack started strong, taking a 2-1 lead after the first period. Caelan Fitzpatrick scored his second goal in as many days to open the scoring for Merrimack. Michael Emerson added another goal 12 minutes into the game, giving the Warriors their early advantage.
Nolan Flamand assisted on both Merrimack goals, while Ethan Beyer contributed an assist as well. Defender Cam Kungle reached a milestone by playing in his 100th collegiate game.
After this loss, Merrimack will return home for its final three games of the regular season. The team is set to host Vermont on Friday and Saturday before concluding with a matchup against UMass-Lowell on March 5.
