The Merrimack College men’s lacrosse team lost to Quinnipiac University, with the Bobcats securing the win in a game where nine goals were scored, according to a March 25 report.
The match saw several standout performances from Merrimack players, though it was not enough for victory. Jack Salva scored at least two goals for the third consecutive game, continuing his scoring streak. Finn Dougherty also contributed two goals, marking the third time in four games he has achieved this feat. Alystair Hemburger added two more goals to his season tally, bringing him to seven and eight overall.
Daniel Bezrutchenko opened the scoring for Merrimack with a goal off a faceoff win and had an impressive day on faceoffs, winning 14 out of 23 attempts and collecting ten ground balls. John Savino and Brendan Harty each found the net as well.
Despite these efforts, Merrimack could not overcome Quinnipiac’s offense. The team will look ahead to their next home game against Iona on Saturday for senior day, scheduled for 1 p.m.
As the Warriors prepare for their upcoming match, they aim to build on their individual successes and secure a win in front of their home crowd.
