Merrimack men’s track and field competes on first day of NEICAAA indoor championships

Members of the Merrimack College men’s track and field team participated in the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Friday.

Gab Qureshi advanced to the 400 meter dash final, finishing second in his preliminary heat with a time of 48.58 seconds. Elizardo Melenciano also secured a second-place finish in the 60 meter hurdle preliminaries, clocking in at 8.27 seconds. In field events, Grant Eastin placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.52 meters.

The team will return to competition at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday, with events scheduled to begin at 10:15 AM.
