The Merrimack Men’s Track and Field team began its outdoor season at the Black and Gold Invitational in Orlando, Florida on March 22. The event took place over Friday and Saturday, marking the team’s first competition of the spring.
The meet saw several notable performances from Merrimack athletes. Aidan Dupill finished fourth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:01.32. Grant Eastin competed in two events, placing ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 56.30 meters and tenth in the shot put with a throw of 15.45 meters. Kyle Adams also earned a top-ten finish, coming in tenth in the javelin throw with a distance of 48.23 meters.
The start of the outdoor season is an important milestone for collegiate track teams as they transition from indoor to outdoor competition, providing new opportunities for athletes to improve their marks and qualify for postseason events.
