The Merrimack College men’s volleyball team was defeated by 19th-ranked Princeton in a 3-0 match held in Princeton, New Jersey. Despite the loss, several players on the Warriors team posted notable performances.
Dallas Birkenbeuel led Merrimack with nine kills, two service aces, and three digs. Reece Lindstrom contributed 20 assists, marking a season high of four block assists and leading the team with six digs. Blake Taschner added eight kills and four digs to the team’s efforts. Nick Tidik recorded four kills along with a season-high four block assists. Max Tkachev also contributed six kills and five digs.
Merrimack kept each set competitive, scoring more than 17 points per set and coming closest to taking a set in the second, which ended at 25-20 in favor of Princeton.
Looking ahead, the Warriors will participate in the Harvard Invitational next week in Cambridge. They are scheduled to play against Harvard on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a match against Lincoln Memorial on Saturday at 4 p.m.
