Merrimack men’s volleyball prepares to host nationally ranked BYU

The Merrimack College men’s volleyball team is set to face Brigham Young University, ranked eighth nationally, on Monday at 6 p.m. The match will take place at the Sakowich Center in North Andover, Massachusetts.

So far this season, sophomore Dallas Birkenbeuel leads the Warriors with 82 kills over six games. Max Tkachev has contributed 60 kills and currently leads the team in service aces. During a recent match against Lincoln Memorial, Tkachev recorded three consecutive aces.

Setter Reece Lindstrom has accumulated 164 assists for the season, including 45 during the Harvard Invitational last weekend. Blake Taschner has added 44 kills and 34 digs to the team’s efforts.

Libero Kyle Standage leads Merrimack in digs with a total of 53 through six matches. On defense, Nathaniel Venegas, Reece Lindstrom, and Jack Johnson each have more than ten total blocks so far this year.

The Warriors will look to build on these individual performances as they prepare for their upcoming match against BYU.
