Merrimack men’s volleyball to face Sacred Heart for season sweep on March 15

Merrimack Warriors men’s volleyball will play against the Sacred Heart Pioneers this Saturday, March 15, at 1 p.m. in Fairfield, Connecticut.

The matchup follows a close senior day victory for the Warriors, who defeated the Pioneers in five sets last weekend. The team is aiming for a season sweep against Sacred Heart.

Max Tkachev led Merrimack in the previous match with his second consecutive double-double, recording 16 kills and 12 digs. This performance brought his season totals to 139 kills and 71 digs. Dallas Birkenbeuel, who leads the team in kills this season, added 13 more to reach a total of 193 kills and has also contributed 83 digs so far.

Senior Nick Tidik made an impact defensively with four blocks last weekend, increasing his season total to 35. Kyle Standage remains the team’s leader in digs with 127 after posting a team-high of 12 against Sacred Heart. Reece Lindstrom is ranked thirty-third nationally in assists per set at 8.61 and now has accumulated 365 assists this season after tallying forty last week.

Other defensive contributors include Jack Johnson with twenty-nine blocks, Nathaniel Venegas with twenty-one, and Blake Taschner with nineteen blocks this year.

The upcoming match will take place at the Pitt Center and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
