Merrimack College announced on March 18 that its men’s volleyball team will host the American International College Yellowjackets this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Sakowich Center.
The upcoming match is notable as Merrimack has won two of its last three games, while AIC enters with a season record of one win and thirteen losses. The Yellowjackets’ only victory so far was against D’youville.
Several Merrimack players have reached individual milestones ahead of the game. Dallas Birkenbeuel recently surpassed 200 kills in the team’s last game against Sacred Heart and has accumulated 87 digs this season. Kyle Standage leads the Warriors in digs with a total of 133, while Max Tkachev has recorded 145 kills and 76 digs.
In terms of assists, Blake Taschner reached the 100-assist mark during the previous match, and Reece Lindstrom leads the team with 386 assists. Taschner also has contributed defensively with 94 digs and 20 total blocks. Nick Tidik leads in blocks with a total of 38, followed by Jack Johnson who has recorded 32 blocks.
The match between Merrimack and AIC is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., providing an opportunity for fans to see how both teams perform as they continue their seasons.
