Merrimack men’s track and field competes at George Davis Invitational in Lowell

The Merrimack Men’s Track and Field team took part in the George Davis Invitational in Lowell, Massachusetts, on April 18 and 19 as part of their outdoor season.

The event saw several strong performances from Merrimack athletes. Keith Townsend finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.28 seconds. In the 5000 meter run, Aidan Dupill secured second place with a time of 14:55.18, followed by Ben Rich in third (15:40.02) and Brody Fahys in fourth (15:42.18).

Other notable results included DJ Walsh finishing third in the 3000 meter steeplechase at 9:51.68, while Jackson Bomba and Elderson Moreira placed fifth and sixth respectively in the 110 meter hurdles with times of 16.23 and 16.25 seconds.

In sprint events, Thomas Scalia was fifth in the 100 meter dash (10.92), and also finished fifth in the 200 meters (22.15). Maddox Merlo took sixth place in that race with a time of 22.26.

Field events featured Nathan Molina earning a podium finish with a long jump of 6.95 meters; he also finished third in high jump at a height of 1.90 meters. In throwing events, Grant Eastin placed on the podium for hammer throw with a distance of 55.79 meters, followed by Jared Ptaszek (52.89) and Jude Ibarra taking sixth place (50.79). Eastin also achieved fifth place in shot put with a throw of 14.94 meters.
