Merrimack softball ends play at UNLV Rebel Classic with individual milestones

Merrimack College’s softball team wrapped up its participation in the UNLV Rebel Classic on Sunday, facing both Idaho State and the tournament hosts, UNLV.

During the first game, Jamie Calkins recorded her inaugural hit as a member of the Warriors. In their matchup against UNLV, Merrimack scored twice in the opening two innings. Madeline Arvai contributed an RBI single, while Melaney Velasco hit a home run to left field during her first at-bat for Merrimack. The team added another run in the seventh inning.

Junior Alex Miller reached a milestone by appearing in her 100th career game for Merrimack during their second contest of the day.
