The Merrimack College women’s softball team won a close game against Sacred Heart, securing a 1-0 victory in nine innings on April 4.

The game was important for the Warriors as it allowed them to finish their series with a win. Both teams played strong defense, keeping the score tied through eight innings.

Anna Gedacht, who is from Fairfield, pitched all nine innings for Merrimack and did not allow any runs. She struck out four batters and gave up only three hits during the game. In the ninth inning, Sam Ryan hit a triple with one out. Emma Prahin then drove Ryan home with a sacrifice fly to score the game’s only run.
