The Merrimack Warriors lost to the Fairfield Stags by a score of 7-6 in a closely contested baseball game on April 2. The teams exchanged leads throughout the nine innings, with the Stags ultimately securing the win.

This matchup was significant for both teams as it showcased strong offensive and defensive performances, keeping fans engaged until the final inning.

Joey Frammartino and Brooks Craigue each hit home runs in the first inning, giving Merrimack an early 3-0 lead. Frammartino finished with three hits and three runs batted in. Jayden Hamilton added another home run for Merrimack in the eighth inning, briefly putting his team ahead late in the game.

Craigue and Greg Cristino contributed two hits each for Merrimack, while Cristino also recorded a double and a single. Matt DeShiro drew three walks during the contest. On the mound, Nick Hunkele pitched five and one-third innings of relief work and struck out seven batters.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again on Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at noon.
