The Merrimack Warriors women’s basketball team lost 65-48 to nationally-ranked Fairfield in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) semifinals at Boardwalk Hall, according to a March 8 announcement.

This result ends Merrimack’s postseason run after a season in which the team finished third in the conference and posted a 19-12 overall record. The game was closely contested through the first half, with Merrimack trailing by just four points at halftime. However, Fairfield extended its lead by outscoring the Warriors 17-7 in the final period.

Se’Lah Reddick led Merrimack with 17 points, including three three-pointers, along with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Paloma Garcia, who was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, contributed ten points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Madison Roman, recognized as a First Team All-MAAC selection, added five points and five rebounds. Daria Shishkina scored seven points on efficient shooting and recorded a career-high four steals.

The loss marks the end of a strong season for Merrimack as they look ahead to future campaigns.
