Merrimack women’s hockey wins shootout against No. 14 Holy Cross

The Merrimack women’s hockey team secured two points after a shootout win against No. 14 Holy Cross at Lawler Arena on Friday. The game ended in a 1-1 tie after regulation and overtime, leading to a shootout where Merrimack prevailed.

Maria Lindberg and McKenzie Cerrato scored for Merrimack in the shootout, while goaltender Adreanna Doucette stopped both attempts from Holy Cross.

Merrimack took an early lead late in the first period with Avery Anderson scoring her sixth goal of the season. Maddie Crowley-Cahill assisted with a slap pass, and Solevig Gisler added a secondary assist. Holy Cross equalized midway through the second period.

Both teams had opportunities during overtime but were unable to score, sending the game to a shootout.

The Warriors are scheduled to play next at Vermont on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
