The Merrimack women’s lacrosse team defeated Iona 12-6 on April 18, closing out its regular season. Hailey Schnider led the Warriors with four goals in the game played in New Rochelle, New York.
This win marked a strong finish for Merrimack, which won three of its last four games to end the regular season. The Warriors broke open a tie at halftime by outscoring the Gaels 7-1 in the second half.
Mia Estelle and Lindsay Atkinson each recorded hat tricks for Merrimack, while Sophia Ingenito and Ashlyn Campbell added one goal each. Hannah Lawrence contributed to the victory with 12 saves.
The Warriors were effective on free position shots, converting five of seven opportunities during the match. With this result, Merrimack completed its regular season with a record of six wins and eleven losses.
The team will look ahead to postseason play after building momentum from their recent performances.
