Merrimack women’s golf finishes ninth at Huntsville collegiate invitational

Merrimack College women’s golf team competed in the Huntsville.org Collegiate Invitational this week, marking their first tournament of the spring season. The event took place at the RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Warriors finished ninth out of ten teams with a combined score of +107. Austin Peay State secured first place with a score of +18, followed by North Alabama at +25. Samford and Belmont tied for third with scores of +37 each.

For Merrimack, Erika Redmond led the team, finishing 30th overall with a total score of +23 over three rounds (+9, +7, +7). Yasmine Qureshi placed 40th at +28 (+11, +11, +6). June Doerr and Olivia Williams both tied for 44th place with scores of +31. Jillian Johnson rounded out the lineup in 51st place at +33.

The team will next compete in Missouri at the Ozarks National Invitational starting March 23.
