The Merrimack women’s lacrosse team lost to the University of New Hampshire, 18-13, at Tucker Field on March 18 after holding a lead in the fourth quarter.

The game was closely contested, with Merrimack maintaining a slight advantage in shots overall but being outshot significantly in the final period. The loss ended what could have been a four-game winning streak for the Warriors.

Sophomore midfielder Sophia Ingenito led Merrimack with five goals and one assist. Junior attack Lindsay Atkinson matched Ingenito’s six points by scoring three goals and providing three assists. Additional contributions came from Ashlyn Campbell and Mia Estelle, who each scored twice, and Camryn Chamberlain, who also found the net.

Merrimack had a narrow edge in total shots at 26-25 but struggled offensively in the fourth quarter as UNH outshot them 12-4. This shift allowed the Wildcats to secure the win late in the game.

Looking ahead, Merrimack will face Mount St. Mary’s at Duane Stadium on Saturday.
