The Merrimack women’s tennis team lost to Providence 7-0 on March 7 at the Willows Racquet & Fitness Center.

The match saw Merrimack struggle against their opponent, with Providence winning all singles and doubles matches except for one. Kiana Thompson and Giulia Martins Cavalcante secured a victory for the Warriors at No. 2 doubles, winning their set 6-1.

Despite the overall loss, the win by Thompson and Martins Cavalcante was a highlight for Merrimack during an otherwise challenging day on the court.

The team will look to regroup as they prepare for their next match. Merrimack is scheduled to return to action next Saturday at Sacred Heart, with play beginning at 6 p.m.

The upcoming contest offers another opportunity for the Warriors to compete and seek improvement as their season continues.
