The Merrimack Women’s Track and Field team participated in the Jay Carisella Invitational on May 2, marking their final competition before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship.
This event provided athletes with an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming championship. Several members of the team achieved notable placements during the meet.
Katie Sills finished second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.40 meters. The relay team consisting of Lillian Warner, Jennifer Baker, Madison DeCamp, and Riley Paskow secured fourth place in the 4×100 relay with a time of 45.99 seconds. Paskow also placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.73 seconds, while Piper Testa finished eighth at 58.63 seconds.
In other results, Warner and Baker took sixth and eighth place respectively in the 100 meter dash with times of 12.42 and 12.54 seconds. Warner added an eighth-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a mark of 25.64 seconds.
Lily Thomas completed her race in fifth place for the 3000 meter steeplechase, recording a time of 10:59.44.
The Warriors will next compete at the MAAC Championships scheduled for May 9th and May 10th in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
