The Merrimack College women’s track and field team earned ten podium finishes at the Ed Daniels Meet on April 11 in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
The team’s strong performance included a victory in the 4×400 meter relay by Piper Testa, Lillian Warner, Isabella Tomic, and Sam Russalesi with a time of 3:55.81. The group won by eight seconds.
Riley Paskow took first place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.83 seconds, winning by more than two seconds. Teammates Testa and Rebecca Russalesi finished third and fifth in the same event. Lily Thomas secured second place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:35.51.
In distance events, Courtney Hinchion and Olivia Guckian placed second and third respectively in the 5000 meter race while Avaline Fihlman finished third in the 1500 meter run. Marianna Collins reached the podium with her performance in the 800 meter run.
Additional notable results included Katie Sills winning pole vault with a jump of 3.20 meters and several top-eight finishes across sprinting, hurdles, jumps, throws, and relay events for other Merrimack athletes.
The meet showcased depth across disciplines for Merrimack’s women’s track program as they continue their season.
