Merrimack women’s track and field wins Skyhawk Invite in Easton

The Merrimack Women’s Track and Field team won the Skyhawk Meet in Easton on April 25.

The victory included strong performances across several events. The relay team of Lillian Warner, Jennifer Baker, Piper Testa, and Madison DeCamp took first place in the 4×100 meter with a time of 47.51 seconds. Another relay team consisting of Warner, Isabella Tomic, Rebecca Russalesi, and Riley Paskow won the 4×400 meter event with a time of 3:53.16.

In individual races, Warner led the sweep in the 100 meter dash by finishing first at 12.40 seconds, followed closely by Baker (12.46) and DeCamp (12.68). Grace Bleyer and Sydney Connolly placed fifth and sixth respectively. Warner also secured first place in the 200 meter dash at 25.62 seconds; Testa finished second (25.63) and Baker third (26.17).

Riley Paskow claimed victory in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.83 seconds while Testa was third (57.49) and Julia Holt fourth (58.96). In hurdles events, Tomic won the 400 meter hurdle at a time of 1:03.65 while Angelina Zaykovskaya finished sixth.

Other notable results included Marianna Collins placing second in the 1500 meters at a time of 4:37.96 with Lily Thomas third (4:41.05). Kiera O’Brien was third in the 100 meter hurdles; Russalesi and Olivia Guckian were third and fourth respectively in the 800 meters.

In field events, Bleyer won long jump with a mark of 5.53 meters while Ella McDonough placed third; Bleyer also took second place in triple jump alongside Waimea Dodge who finished third.

Additional top finishes came from Bella Hayes taking third place in shot put, Caitlin Garrahy placing fourth in hammer throw, Cameron Zuliani finishing sixth and Gabby Hayes seventh in discus throw, Elizabeth Murphy placing sixth in high jump, Keira O’Brien seventh in javelin throw, and Katie Sills eighth overall for pole vault.
