Merrimack junior captain Mia Juvelier was named an All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) First-Team selection following the women’s lacrosse season, according to an April 24 announcement.
This recognition is significant as it marks the first time a Merrimack player has earned All-MAAC honors, highlighting both individual and team achievement within the program.
Juvelier, who plays as a defender, received an at-large/specialist bid after collecting 144 draw controls over 17 games. She led the conference in draw controls per game. Her performance included a career-high of 16 draw controls against Radford, along with strong showings against Quinnipiac, Siena, and Sacred Heart.
“I’m incredibly proud of Mia for earning All-MAAC First Team Specialist,” Merrimack head coach Jen Fox Sargent said. “This is such a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication. While this honor highlights her individual achievement, it’s also a reflection of the entire draw unit, whose effort and chemistry played a huge role in her success. This is an exciting day for our program, as it marks the first time we’ve had a player earn All-MAAC recognition, and it speaks volumes about the direction we’re heading.”
The honor reflects both Juvelier’s contributions on the field and signals progress for Merrimack’s women’s lacrosse program.
