Merrimack Warriors golfers June Doerr and Olivia Williams led their team during the St. John’s Invitational in Hudson, NY, according to an April 7 announcement.

The tournament saw a standout moment when Olivia Williams made a hole-in-one on the course’s 132-yard par three during the first round. The event took place at St. Andrew’s Golf Club.

St. John’s University hosted the invitational and finished first with a team score of +62. Fairfield placed second at +70, Quinnipiac was third with +71, and Merrimack secured fifth place at +84.

Individually for Merrimack, Doerr finished with a total of +15 in round one (5th place) and improved by three strokes in round two for a final tally of +12 over par. Williams followed closely behind with a total of +16 (9th place) after rounds of +11 and +5 over par respectively. Other contributors included Mya Murphy (+28 overall), Yasmine Qureshi (+29), and Erika Redmond (+31).

The Warriors will conclude their season at the MAAC Championships scheduled for April 21-23 in Orlando, Florida. The championship will be held at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.
