Quinnipiac defeats Merrimack women’s basketball despite Williams’ season-high performance

Freshman Joi Williams scored a season-high 19 points for the Merrimack women’s basketball team, but it was not enough to overcome Quinnipiac, who secured a 75-61 victory on Monday. The game took place in North Andover, Massachusetts.

Quinnipiac remains undefeated in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with a 9-0 record, while Merrimack now stands at 5-3 in conference games.

Williams made six of her eight field goal attempts and converted five out of seven three-pointers. She also collected four rebounds. Madison Roman recorded her seventh consecutive double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Paloma Garcia contributed 10 points and eight rebounds for Merrimack.

The Warriors will next play against Saint Peters on Thursday at 7 p.m.
